@@GC0077 Well, my best advice... listen closely, use your ears first... then try to copy what you hear. Play a lot. If you do those, you will improve. Everyone can improve. Play stuff you personally like to hear and have fun. Do ear training where you learn the scales and intervals. That'll help you musically. Lots to learn but if you just have fun along the way, you win!

thx! I wish I could have gotten a better phase shifter sound but I used what was in Guitar Rig so ... not sure how to improve it. If I put it AFTER the amp, it's too phasey, b4 the amp not enough... :( oh well. I tried!

thx. I think I only had a cassette of the album at some point. I don't think I ever oh wait... Hemispheres is the only Rush album I actually owned. I'm pretty sure. I love Moving Pictures but never owned it. This tune I think is off of Permanent Waves album.

I'm alive. Yeah, I'm not so much a fan of the DeCarlo guy. To me... he's just okay. Yeah, Tom probably controlled everything he could so he was happy at least with the outcomes, I guess. I lost interest at album 3. I was on to Van Halen and other stuff by then so none of the stuff after album 2 was interesting to me. Steve Vai and Joe Satriani... Malmsteen. But they had one or two songs I thought was okay. But nothing like the first 2 albums. Same with Van Halen a little bit but not as bad. Van Halen had some interesting stuff on every album but the first 2.... those were all songs mostly already written so they had some cool tunes and time to work up the arrangements and get them really tight during recording. They had more tunes than 2 albums so they could do 2 albums in 2 years. Boston.... like 2 albums in 6 years or something. Tom Scholz had 2 years of guitar god status then.... Eddie burst onto the scene and everyone else was toast cuz he roasted them with fire! haha anyway.... take it easy!

@@TruthSurge VH was mainstreaming but on their way back with 1984. Today everybody forgets or doesn't know cuts like Little Dreamer or Jamie's Crying. Man it sucks he was basically gone just after 60. But they also lost their creative juice after Sammy's departure. If Tom wanted that much total control, more power. But he should have just gone with Tom Scholz. Ala Frampton, Nova, Trower, whatever. Brad & Barry went off & made some decent music hence my comment. My tastes have broadened & I don't live in the past, but DAMN we had Great Rock Bands & Music in the early 70's to early 80's. Thx 4 the reply, glad ur all good 👍✌️ Rock on 🎸🔥

@@in2livinit Yeah, while Tom was taking 6 years to mix an album, Brad and Barry wanted to play out and record some tunes so I think that was great. PRob with Tom... he didn't sing. He had too deep a voice so he couldn't do the Aldo or Frampton thing. :) He needed a lead singer or just do instrumental guitar but he wasn't good enough to do that. oh well..... yeah, don't live in the past. But I do visit it sometimes. :) taker easy!

I had to pitch my voice up quite a # of semitones using software. I actually sang it in a lower key to begin with. So... I just distorted it by allowing the back of my throat somewhere to touch and cause that distorted raspy effect. I didn't do the greatest job but I am always trying different things. some work better than others. Voice too thin? nah, you just need a higher range to sing that or do what I did and just pitch it up higher in the mix.

I did butcher that one part cuz I didn't rehearse enough so that solo part at the start I messed up. I wasn't trying to get millions of views, I was just having quick fun with an old song I used to play back in the 70s. ty!!!

But you might also check with whoever holds the copyrights b4 you just put it into your thing BUT if you really are not doing it for $, then I THINK you'd be okay. Copyright is about protecting the $ of people who make up stuff so... you aren't taking any from the copyright holders by using it but then... I'm not a lawyer!
